The Physician Innovation Fund underwrites Englewood Health physician-led projects to drive clinical innovation and enhance patient outcomes. Thanks to our generous donors, the Englewood Health Foundation has awarded more than $700,000 in funding for 22 Physician Innovation Fund grants since the program’s inception in 2021, helping to advance clinical innovation and patient care. The grant program is administered by the Physician Philanthropy Council.
Request for Proposals for the 2026 Physician Innovation Fund cycle are now open!
Grant applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through September 8, 2026 or until funds have been exhausted, whichever occurs first. Grant funding shall not exceed $50,000 per grant award. Only one grant may be awarded to a credentialed physician/group in good standing within the health system per calendar year. Click here to access the fillable application.

The following are three of the exciting projects currently underway at Englewood Health:
- Medical Equipment – A near-infrared camera is being used to assess breast flap viability during surgery, helping reduce complications and support improved reconstructive outcomes.
- Devices and Technologies – Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is being introduced as a minimally invasive technique to treat thyroid nodules without the need for surgery.
- Institutional Review Board–Approved Research Studies – A precision medicine study is underway to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of non–small cell lung cancer through advanced molecular and genomic insights.
